5. Cucumber Sushi Rolls

Hey #FitFam hope you’re feeling great! If you’re stuck for healthy eating ideas check out this little treat I recently put together. These super simple “sushi like” cucumber rolls are filled with a mixture of pesto and low fat ricotta and a little bit of turkey breast. Cucumbers are a good source of phytonutrients (plant chemicals that have protective or disease preventive properties) such flavonoids, lignans and triterpenes, which have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer benefits. . . I enjoy a flexible healthy diet and YES I definitely treat myself every now and then because life’s too short not to try some delicious calories but whilst training hard I feed my body the nutrients it needs including the right amount of protein, carbs and fats. If you ask me whether I’m dieting, I’m not. I’m simply feeding my body the nutrients it needs so that I can live a healthy life whilst aiming for longevity of both my muscles as well as my internal organs as I enjoy looking after myself. Remember that being healthy isn’t just about following a certain plan for diet or for training, being healthy is a wholistic approach that includes a whole body approach of a healthy mind, healthy spirit, healthy gut and healthy body.
