So here’s what I’m doing in the third trimester (week 33) for optimal health and mental and physical wellbeing.
1️⃣ Walking every day, sometimes 5000 steps, other days 10,000 or even 15,000 steps.
2️⃣ Drinking only 1 cup of caffeine a day (nothing has changed compared to when not pregnant) The rest of the day I’ll just have herbal tea and LOTS of water (minimum 2L)
3️⃣ 6 dates per day (yum, good for energy, fibre and sugar cravings if you have them).
4️⃣ My daily stack of supplements which includes:
– 1 scoop collagen
– 1 scoop whey protein
– 1 dose of pregnancy multi vitamins
– 1 dose of iron (make sure you take this with vitamin C for optimal absorption)
– 1 dose of vitamin D
– 5ML of colloidal minerals (trace minerals are crucial building blocks for hundreds of enzymes plus help facilitate a multitude of biochemical reactions
– 1 dose of probiotics
5️⃣ Exercise 3 to 4 times per week in the gym. Focusing on strengthening the body, with special focus on glutes, pelvic floor and hip mobility. Training both by myself as well as with specialists myotherapist Sam Kolay (@Sam_Elitetsm) who knows all about pre natal and post partum fitness and rehab. Check out @elitetrainingsportsmed in Keilor for all your needs in training, athlete development, recovery and expert advice.
6️⃣ Plan some dates with myself for self care time (including pregnancy massage and facial) Some fun activities and lunch dates with my friends and off course some special time with hubby before Bub arrives.
