Every morning is a new chance,
a new opportunity to make the next 24 hours amazing.
Another opportunity to make today count, to get one step closer towards your dreams and to pursue your goals.
How will you make today count?
Each day you wake up, you can choose to get out of bed or hit the snooze button. It’s so much easier to snuggle up and hit the snooze button, but if you simply resist that feeling and get yourself out of bed, so many more amazing things can happen.
Let’s make today happen and let’s start it positively.
Here are my top tips to get your day started positively.
1. Just Get Up
As soon as the alarm goes, get up. If you really want to make it easy, simply drink a big glass of water before bed which means when you wake up in the morning you really have to get up to empty your bladder. Or, another trick is to place your alarm (phone) away from arms reach so that when your alarm goes off in the morning, you’ll have to physically get out of bed to turn it off.
2. Don’t Start Your Morning Extinguishing Fires
As soon as you’re up, don’t reach for your phone to check your messages, your social media profiles or the latest news. If this is the first thing you do when you wake up, all you do is extinguish fires (you are simply attending to all useless messages and attending to peoples so called problems they openly share on social media). Instead, spend your time getting focused (see next point).
3. Spend a Few Minutes Meditating
Spend a few minutes on yourself and become mindful of how you are feeling today. Practise some breathing exercises and set your intentions for the day.

4. Nourish Your Body
Fuel your being with a healthy nourishing breakfast such as Green Warrior Protein Smoothie Recipe or Gut Loving Green Breakfast Porridge or Ricotta Oat Breakfast Patties.
5. Get Focused
Grab your journal and get down to business. Review where you are at and jot down your goals for today.

6. Exercise
Fuel your system, get that blood pumping and feel that you’re alive! Exercise will not only give you energy for the day but will also release the happy hormones that will make you feel great!
Go for a nice brisk walk, hit the gym for a good workout, or practice yoga at home to get your day started in a positive way.
Here’s a great quote from Tim Ferriss to inspire your day:
“When you wake up in the morning, tell yourself: The people I deal with today will be meddling, ungrateful, arrogant, dishonest, jealous, and surly. They are like this because they can’t tell good from evil. But I have seen the beauty of good, and the ugliness of evil, and have recognized that the wrongdoer has a nature related to my own—not of the same blood or birth, but the same mind, and possessing a share of the divine. And so none of them can hurt me.”
Tim Ferriss
The Bottom Line
I know…. getting up early isn’t easy.
Choosing to get your day started isn’t easy. Laying in bed is easier but wasting your time away is a wasted opportunity. So get out there, reap the fruits of today and live your life to the full!
