The below healthy halloween treats are easy to make and you can get as creative as you want.
It’s that easy the kids can even help you in the kitchen!
Tips to Make Halloween Healthier
Whether it is a birthday, Christmas, Halloween or another celebration, making healthier choices is something we all play a part in. It’ snot only the conscious decision to choose one food or drink over another, but it is also about not buying those particular foods. Because we all know it, if it’s in the house we’ll eat it, and it we don’t have it in house, we don’t. So it’s up to you. Start making those healthier choices today! Here are my 3 simple tips to make your next celebration a little healthier:
- Choose fruit and veggies over sugary lollies or cakes. If you do buy lollies, opt for those lower in sugar, and made from natural sweeteners such as the natural confectionary company. Alternatively you can get very creative with cool treats such as fruit cakes and home made simple treats like the below.
- Limit your intake (or your child’s intake) by not offering the entire box of chocolate or lollies, but by rationing the treats. There’s a reason that snack size bites exist! Instead of choosing one big bag of chips or lollies, choose the ones that have 10 or 12 snack sized bags in them.
- Where possible have sugar free drinks. A great fun tip is to make your own ice tea. Simply fill a jug of water with your desired flavours such as fresh mint leaves, slices of lemon and ginger.
