I can’t be stuffed making a meal today so instead I’m sipping on a pregnancy smoothie that may help induce natural labour.
Here’s how:
Smoothie Ingredients:
- 1 ripe banana
- 2 scoop frozen blueberries
- 2 tablespoons of fibre (Psyllium husks and linseed mix)
- 3 tablespoons of pineapple pieces with some juice
- 1 scoop green superfood powder
- 1 scoop bulk nutrients collagen vanilla
- Top it off with milk of choice
- Blend in ninja till smooth -> enjoy immediately
Why?
🍌Bananas:
Bananas are high in fiber, which is an essential nutrient for good digestion. The extra fiber in your diet can help to give you regular bowel movements and avoid constipation, which is common during pregnancy
🫐Blueberries:
Great source of antioxidants and good source of vitamin C which are essential for overall health and wellbeing of both momma and bubba.
🌾Fibre:
Definitely start adding fibre into your diet during pregnancy if you suffer from constipation (a VERY common issue during pregnancy). You also want to prepare your bowels for pre and post delivery as it’ll be a painful first stool after you’ve delivered your baby vaginally.
🍍Pineapple:
Old wives tale or not, it’s worth a try as pineapple is said to help induce labour. Pineapple contains the enzyme bromelain, which is believed by some to soften the cervix and trigger contractions.
🦴Collagen:
Collagen has been a staple in my pregnancy diet as it’s said the a high protein diet (including collagen) is said to help skin health and thus help with reducing and or healing tearing post partum. Collagen is also great for joints, pelvic floor tissue, skin elasticity, and postpartum hair and healthy glow.
