Pizza Dough Recipe Without Yeast or Baking Powder

Pizza Dough Recipe Without Yeast or Baking Powder

So it was a wet Sunday afternoon when I decided to make some pizzas for dinner. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, turns out that all major shops are out of baking powder and yeast, one of the main ingredients needed to make your own pizza dough.

Thankfully we have the internet which always seems to have the perfect solution for almost any problem. In this case it turns out that you can easily make a yummy delicious fluffy pizza base with only 2 ingredients: 1) Self Raising Flower and 2) Greek Yoghurt.

Pizza Dough Ingredients

  • 2 Cups self raising flour
  • 1 Cup greek yoghurt

2 Ingredient Pizza Dough Method

Step 1: Mix flour and yoghurt in a bowl and knead together
Step 2: Knead until dough is nice and pliable and roll into a ball. Then divide into two balls to make 2 pizza bases.
Step 3: Roll out pizza dough with a rolling pin (or equivalent) until you have reached desired thickness.
Step 4: Place pizza base onto baking tray lined with baking paper
Step 5: Top your pizza base with desired spread such as sour cream, pesto, or traditional red sauce.
Step 6: Spread pizza base sauce evenly with back of a spoon
Step 7: Top with your favourite toppings such as mushroom, olives, caramelised oven grilled onion and artichoke hearts.
Step 8: Bake in the middle of a pre heated oven at 180 – 200 degrees celsius until golden brown.

Final Thoughts

During the COVID-19 pandemic I’ve started to experiment more with home cooking variations and this pizza base recipe is definitely a winner in my household and I’m confident it will be a winner in yours too! I’d love to hear what your favourite pizza toppings are!
