Valentine’s day cupcakes? Really? How tacky! Valentine’s day is around the corner so I tried out some special cupcakes. You can simply make your favourite cupcake recipe and colour your batter rose (1/3 rose and 2/3 natural). Then pour the natural coloured batter into the cupcake pan and top with rose on the side only. Then using a chop stick, create a heart like the below pictures.
Valentine’s Day Cupcakes Step One: Make your favourite cupcake recipe and poor 1 tbs of batter into the cupcake pans.
Valentine’s Day Cupcakes Step Two: Make 1/3 or the batter pink / rose.
Valentine’s Day Cupcakes Step Three: Poor the rose batter into the pan, on one side only. Then use a chop stick to create the heart pattern.
Valentine’s Day Cupcakes Step Four: Tadaa! Here’s a heart pattern.
Now bake your cupcakes following the recipe but keep an eye on them. I baked mine for approx 35 minutes on 180 degrees Celsius. Let the cupcakes cool down on a cooling rack and get ready for decorating the cupcakes!

Decorating the Valentine’s Day Cupcakes
I recently learned from my friend how to create filled cup cakes so if you’d like to try something new. See below! It’s easy, all I do is cut out a little circle on the top of the cup cake and cut out the cake off the lid, just so that you only have a ‘lid’ left.
Valentine’s Day Cupcakes Step Five: Cut out a round of the top and remove the cake from the ‘lid’. Hopefully the photo explains it all.
Valentine’s Day Cupcakes Step Six: Fill the hole with your favourite filling such as jam or custard.
Valentine’s Day Cupcakes Step Seven: Close the lid and get ready to ice!
Valentine’s Day Cupcakes Step Eight: Ice the filled cupcake with your favourite icing.
Tadaa: Final Valentine’s Day Cupcakes – Get Creative and try something new!
