I came across a great article on LinkedIn “This is not advice” by David Sinclair and I was instantly hooked…. In this article David discusses the supplements he uses to increase healthy human lifespan, as discussed in his book “Lifespan”. So off course then I decided to get David’s book Lifespan.
Although the book was a bit hard to get into, the story just goes on and on and has a lot of data and history in it… about halfway through the middle there are some really interesting finds about mTOR, Metformin and the most interesting thing that I learnt so far is that:
Rapamycin (commonly used to prevent rejection in organ or bone-marrow transplant patients) was first found on Easter Island and the drug’s name comes from the island’s native name, Rapa Nui.
